Extreme Cleaning FAQs

What counts as extreme cleaning?

Extreme cleaning covers properties beyond normal cleaning — severe hoarding (Clutter Image Rating 7–9 / Level 4–5), squalor, faecal contamination, urine saturation, severe pest infestations, post-incident scenes, properties unoccupied for years, and homes with combined biohazards. ATG is trained, insured and equipped for the worst of it.

Is anything too extreme for you?

Almost never. We've cleared properties with rooms inaccessible due to clutter, severe vermin infestations, blocked plumbing causing sewage flooding, and decomposition that has affected flooring and structure. If a job is genuinely outside our scope, we'll say so honestly and recommend the right specialist.

How long does an extreme clean take?

Typically 3–10 days depending on size, severity and disposal volume. We work in phases — clearance, deep clean, decontamination, reinstatement — and provide a clear timeline up front.

Is the work covered by insurance?

Yes — ATG carries full public liability and is CPD biohazard accredited. Many extreme cleans are funded by buildings insurance, landlord cover, council schemes or estate funds. We provide all documentation required for claims.

Do you support the resident through the process?

Yes. For occupied properties (especially hoarding cases), we work at the resident's pace, can coordinate with social workers and mental health teams, and approach the work without judgement.
